Welcome
Welcome to the Bosco Catholic Education Trust
At present, we are a
family of five schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton who have come
together to work collaboratively for the benefit of all children in the
Catholic schools of Sussex. Our single purpose as a Catholic Education Trust is
to serve schools in anything they need to provide a truly outstanding education
for their children.
Catholic schools in
Arundel and Brighton have a long tradition of working collaboratively. Bosco
Catholic Education Trust was established in April 2017 to bring together more
formally any Catholic schools within Sussex that wished to do so. The aim of
the Bosco Catholic Education Trust is to provide an education which is
second-to-none for all children within Sussex specifically and more widely, the
Diocese. We seek to further enhance and strengthen the partnerships between our
Catholic family of schools and to preserve and protect all that we value and
cherish in our communities.
Catholic schools aim
to provide a holistic education, recognising that every child is made in the
image and likeness of Christ. We work tirelessly to enable our children to
fulfil their God-given potential, supporting their spiritual, moral, social,
cultural and physical development as well as setting uncompromising standards
for their academic excellence. As it was for St John Bosco, we believe that all
children should be ‘known and loved’ and challenged to become the person God
called them to be.
Being part of the
Bosco CET family of schools brings significant benefits for example:
- -
Genuine collaboration on learning and teaching to enhance existing
practice;
- -
Excellent professional development and leadership opportunities for all
staff;
- -
Support for Headteachers and Governing Bodies with both the strategic and
day-to-day running of their school in whatever way they request;
- -
Reinstating services that schools may have previously lost, such as
providing an Educational Psychologist, subject networking and advisory
support;
- -
Providing specialist support for those in administrative roles, enabling
effective collaboration with those in similar roles in other schools;
- -
Being able to procure services and negotiate contracts that more
specifically meet the needs of our schools;
- -
Being able to save money and achieve economies of scale;
- -
Saving schools time on things that distract from learning and teaching and
centralising some functions that are common to all schools;
- -
Being able to maintain the unique identity of each Catholic school, whilst
benefiting from being part of something bigger;
- -
Working together closely to strengthen our Catholic ethos.
Bosco CET is
accountable to the schools and their Governing Bodies in the Trust. We are here
to serve them and, at a time of considerable challenge for individual schools,
to lighten the load.
